Bret Vanderburg is an upright and electric bass player with 20 years of experience and an impressive studio and live performance portfolio. A graduate with Honours from Humber College of Music in Jazz performance (Toronto, Canada), he has studied with the likes of Mike Farquharson, Pat LeBarbera, and Charles Toliver. Bret has played for Maureen McGovern, Helen Shapiro, Buddy Greco, Frank Gorshin, Lorna Luft, Cirque du Soleil, the original ‘Shout’ at Jermyn street theatre, 8 years of pantomimes, Holland America and Princess Cruise lines, various TV spots in the UK and Canada as well as numerous artists’ albums in styles ranging from Hard Rock to Country to Salsa to Jazz/Fusion and Soul. Bret has also been building his studio along the way which has been used to record two albums and an EP for wife Pipa which Bret has both writing and production credits for. More recently he has begun to pursue opportunities in the composition and production of music for film and television. Bret is currently playing for the 80’s band ‘Tight Fit’ (Lion Sleeps Tonight, Fantasy Island) and lovin’ all the 80’s tunes!!!!
